I've had nagging low-level painful earache all weekend. I slept on a hot-water bottle last night while drugged up to the eyes on neurofen; it's still getting worse. A brief visit to the doctor this morning suggests that it's nothing to do with my ear at all, and is probably related to an inflamed wisdom tooth. How come the human body is so strange?! That's like saying, "Oh yes, you've got a swollen ankle: must be because you've hurt your knee." Barmy!

Being an expert on pain in both (and the neck, but that's another story!), I would have to disagree with Steve. Tooth ache is far worse....it can dangerously affect eating, which only adds to ones distress I find!!

Have them all out Mad.....mega mega pain for a few days then bliss for ever more!

I once went to a pharmacist and said that I was looking for some ear drops as I had a blocked ear. He refused to sell me the drops and sent me away instead to buy some cotton wool and olive oil. Which was cheaper, but slightly embarassing as I was working on site at the time, so walking around with a bit of oil soaked cotton wool in my ear did nothing for my image as an authority figure!
