Planet Mad

Am in a philosophical mood today: have spent most of the time thinking about teaching, cogitating over its intricacies and complexities. You need to be able to explain a concept coherently, whilst planning your next sentence/exposition and wondering how to best draw it all on the board (spelling it right at the same time) and check that your pupils are keeping up and understand, whilst also keeping an eye on Myles and Simon, who you know are pulling faces at each other. Sometimes it's no surprise that my brain hurts :-) Still, a colleague watched one of my lessons today and he had nothing but positive comments to make about my teaching, so I have a happy glowy feeling at the moment. I love my job.
